Emirati-International discussions, which brought together Dr. Anwar Gargash; Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the UAE and Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

The talks dealt with developments in the Yemeni crisis and efforts to create appropriate conditions for a ceasefire, and move towards a sustainable political solution that ends the crisis and human suffering experienced by the Yemeni people.

According to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the meeting, Dr. Anwar Gargash affirmed the UAE’s support for the international efforts, and those of the UN envoy, to find a mechanism for a permanent ceasefire, and to start a serious dialogue to reach a sustainable political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
In this regard, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE appreciated the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He also stressed that the UAE stands with the brotherly Yemeni people, and supports all efforts aimed at ending the crisis with its political and humanitarian repercussions.

In this context, he welcomed the recent announcement by the United Nations to complete the plan to unload the tanker of the floating oil tanker “Safer” off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea, praising the efforts of the United Nations and its Secretary-General and the support provided by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen and donor countries to facilitate the success of oil tanker unloading operations. Floating, avoiding an environmental and humanitarian disaster.

For his part, the UN envoy reviewed the latest developments in the Yemeni file with international, regional and local parties, as well as his efforts in this regard.
