Emirati Humanitarian Team Provides Medical Aid to Umm Jars General Hospital in Chad

The Emirati humanitarian team, located in the city of Am Jars, the capital of the Ende Est region in northern Chad, provided medical equipment and supplies, intensive care equipment, and solar-powered lighting devices to Umm Jars General Hospital.
The UAE humanitarian team, which consists of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Work and works in coordination with the Foreign Aid Office, delivered the aid to Dr. Taher Abdul Rahman Joqoun, director of the hospital, in the presence of Abdullah Mustafa Fadl, a representative. The Chadian Ministry of Health and Dr. Abkar Abu Abkar, the health director of the hospital.
Ahmed Al Mansouri, Director of the UAE Foreign Aid Coordination Office in Chad, said that this UAE support for the hospital is a first payment that will be followed by other payments in the coming days to support the medical sector in the city, which suffers from a shortage in various areas of medical services.
He stressed the UAE’s keenness to ensure that patients in the region’s hospitals receive the necessary medical treatment, and to fill any shortage in their needs by running convoys of medicines and medical equipment in all specialties.
In this regard, Al Mansouri pointed out the many therapeutic and medical services provided by the Emirati field hospital, with a capacity of 50 beds, in the city of Umm Jars, which the state opened under the royal directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” on July 9. The past, which has greatly influenced and continues to have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of Sudanese refugees and Chadian citizens residing in the Endy-Est region.
For his part, Dr. Taher Abdul Rahman Joqoun praised the great humanitarian efforts made by the United Arab Emirates and its wise leadership and its support for the health sector in his country to alleviate the burden of the current events in Sudan on the shoulders of Sudanese refugees and on the residents of the region in general who are in dire need of this type of aid. He stressed that his country is making great efforts to provide urgent basic needs and improve the level of medical services with the support and assistance of the Emirati humanitarian team present in the city.
The director of Umm Jaras General Hospital explained that the hospital suffers from a shortage of medical personnel, as well as a shortage of emergency medical equipment that contributes to preserving the lives of critical and emergency cases and premature babies, noting that the UAE humanitarian team expressed its complete readiness to fill any shortage that the hospital suffers from, whether in equipment or Devices or medications as soon as possible.
