Emirati Designers Shine at the Middle East Watch and Jewelry Exhibition

Amid visitors’ praise of the exhibition, Emirati designers, male and female, excelled in displaying their individual creativity, and the pioneers of the “Emirates Goldsmiths” platform were able to attract many visitors who came to see a variety of jewelery made of diamonds, gold, pearls, and many other precious metals and precious stones, each of which bore an imprint. Especially with unique shapes and exquisite colors, and reflecting the craftsmanship of its makers inherited from fathers and grandfathers.

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Expo Center Sharjah, said that the “Emirates Goldsmiths” platform, which the Chamber provides annually at the “Middle East Watch and Jewelery Exhibition,” comes as part of its pioneering efforts to support and guide young entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises. Those working in the field of designing and manufacturing gold and jewelry to achieve the desired success in their work and enable them to develop their craft and marketing skills and continue their work in a stimulating environment that supports their efforts to continue creativity and development. He pointed out that the platform witnesses an annual growth in the number of participants from Emirati entrepreneurs and talent owners due to its importance in providing opportunity. For them to appear strongly and highlight their talents and creativity, in addition to learning about the experiences of major exhibitors in this industry and communicating with them in order to exchange experiences and hone their skills.

Mona Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, responsible for the “Emirates Jewelers” platform, said that the platform held several innovative workshops that dealt with the integration of nature, the desert environment, and the marine environment in jewelry design, where male and female designers benefited from learning about new trends in jewelry crafting locally, in addition to teaching beginners how to Dealing with precious stones and choosing them correctly when installing them on gold and diamonds, pointing to the focus on enhancing sustainability practices in the gold industry by working to introduce natural resources into the gold formulation, including the date kernel in which we decorate the jewelry, as well as shells and other natural resources that are abundant in our environment. Fatima Al Muhairi, a jewelry designer and gemstone expert, said that she is participating for the third time in the “Emirates Jewelers” platform through her modern jewelry, but with the addition of her design touches from gemstones in unusual colors and sizes, noting her participation in a workshop on developing business management for beginners and teaching them a marketing, selling, and recognition strategy. Hind Al-Ansari, who has been participating for two years in the “Emirates Jewelers” platform, confirmed that she benefited from participating by presenting her experience in dealing with modern jewelry according to a refined heritage vision that added new aesthetics to the artifacts displayed within her collection, as Al-Ansari chose to display designs of authentic Bahraini pearls and combine rare pieces of pearls with diamonds.
