Emirates News Agency – UAEU organizes a workshop on research cooperation with the Malaysian University of Malaya

Kuala Lumpur, on January 30, / WAM / The United Arab Emirates University held a workshop on joint research cooperation and evaluation of the outputs of ongoing research projects with the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The workshop, which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was attended by more than 60 faculty members and researchers from the University of Malaya. The workshop aims to develop future plans that contribute to enhancing research outputs in quantity and quality for joint projects between the two universities.
Dr. Ahmed Ali Murad – Associate Vice-Deputy for Scientific Research at UAEU – said that UAEU seeks to support constructive international cooperation, which reflects positively on the quality of research and has a tangible impact on the scientific community by providing scientific solutions to various societal challenges, in line with the university’s vision to build International research collaborations with high-ranking universities. Such activities will enhance and improve the global image and reputation of UAEU.
Dr. Ahmed Murad added that this technical workshop in Kuala Lumpur aims to draw a road map for joint research activities through initiatives and indicators that are measured periodically. In the second half of this year, a joint international forum will be held at the UAE University in Al Ain, focusing on the research outputs and results of 16 research projects that are jointly conducted by researchers from the UAE University and the University of Malaya.
Dr. Chaliza Ibrahim – Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), University of Malaya – gave an overview of the university and its various research centers. Then Prof. Dr. Ahmed Murad gave a detailed overview of the university, its faculties, and its research vision, which is in line with national priorities and strategies, and its future plan, which aims to achieve the research goals of the university. Then Dr. Mohsen Sharif – Director of the Office of Research and Funded Projects at UAEU – gave a presentation on research capabilities and capabilities at UAEU, the mechanism of international research cooperation and facts about research productivity and quality at UAEU over the past years.
