Abu Dhabi, 10 November / WAM / The UAE has been awarded the right to host the 2022 World Endurance Championship, at the Boudheib Global Endurance Village in Abu Dhabi, from 20 to 25 February 2023, to strengthen its position leadership of the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi Dhabi in hosting major global events.
The International Equestrian Federation announced today its decision to win Boudheib village to host the important world event during the Federation Board of Directors meeting, which was held in Cape Town, South Africa.
Boudheib Global Endurance Village had submitted an integrated file to the International Equestrian Federation to host the World Endurance Championship 2022, which was supposed to take place from 19 to 22 October last in Italy, but the International Equestrian Federation has reopened the application for all national federations, after his decision withdrawing the organization of the championship from the Italian city of Verona, justifying it with the length of the preparation period, as well as with the concerns about the impact of the lack of preparation of the slopes on the safety of the drivers.
For his part, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raissi, President of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, congratulated the wise leadership on the occasion of the UAE’s victory in organizing the Open World Championships for Endurance and Endurance at Boudheeb International Endurance Village in Abu Dhabi, and for winning the trust of the International Equestrian Federation to host this important championship.
Al Raisi commended the support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, to the Boudheeb International Village file and His Highness’s enthusiasm in making the file distinct and providing Accurate details of Boudheeb Village’s readiness, from an international standard compliant infrastructure that ensures safety for riders and horses, unique logistic services, ideas and incentives that exceed the level required to host the tournament and the facilities the UAE can provide for the participants.
Al Raisi said: The Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation is delighted with the victory of the Boudheeb International Endurance Village to organize this world championship, which brings together elite jockeys from all continents of the world in Abu Dhabi, to compete for the title of the most great championship organized by the International Equestrian Federation in endurance and endurance sports.
He added that the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation will work to provide all support to Boudheeb village in organizing the championship and bringing it to the highest levels of desired organizational success.
He said: We wish the UAE riders participating in this tournament to win the title to keep it after having achieved the most wonderful results in this global forum and have crowned it brilliantly many times, the last of which was the last. championship which was held in Italy in 2021, and obtained the titles of champion and runner-up.

The International Equestrian Federation stressed the importance of the decision to award the organization of the World Endurance Championship to the village of Boudheib and FEI President Ingmar de Vos said: The FEI Board of Directors is impressed with the world-class infrastructure and permanent facilities provided by the village of Boudheib and the ability of the organizers to guarantee in a short time all the logistical support to the riders ‘and horses’ athletes.

The Organizing Committee of the World Endurance Championship 2022 in Boudheib awarded financial prizes to all winners, including the category of the best condition of the horse, and the total financial prizes for teams and individuals and the prize for the best condition of the horse amount to two million dirhams.
Interestingly, the village of Boudheeb has received special global recognition for having a modern and well-equipped veterinary clinic that contains digital X-rays, ultrasound imaging and other diagnostic services. The staff, veterinarians and laboratory technicians are highly skilled. The clinic is located near the central veterinary gates, includes examination areas, equine treatment stables and administrative control areas.
Since its inception in 2004, Boudheeb Village has witnessed the organization of 147 races and championships under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation and 153 races and championships under the supervision of the Emirati Equestrian Federation.
