This came as part of an official visit by a UAE Government delegation to the Republic of Costa Rica and a number of Central American countries, which included His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Government Knowledge Exchange Program Team in the State Government of Qatar.
The UAE government delegation met Marlon Alvarez, Costa Rican Deputy Minister of National Planning and Economic Policy, and Saskia Rodríguez Steichen, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy, and held discussions with them of various areas of cooperation in government work between the two countries, and the expansion of partnership areas in government development and modernization during the next stage. The delegation also met during the visit, His Excellency Rawda Mohammed Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to Costa Rica, and discussed the advancement of the distinct relations between the UAE and the Republic of Costa Rica in the field of work of the government and the two countries’ efforts to develop relations and transfer them to advanced levels of constructive partnership.
Abdullah Nasser Lootah stressed that the UAE government, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ‘may God protect him’ adopts the promotion of positive and constructive partnerships aimed at transferring the illustrious Emirati model in government work to various governments of the world and the participation of successful experiences and knowledge exchange that contribute to better performance and reflect positively on the lives of individuals and societies .
He said that the visit of the UAE government delegation to the Central American countries, and especially to the Republic of Costa Rica, is within the framework of the knowledge exchange program with world governments and focuses on improving work efficiency system governance by adopting best practices and innovative solutions and launching strategic initiatives and projects to raise the bar of performance to improve readiness for the future.
He stressed that the joint working groups in the governments of the two countries have held, in the last period, a series of meetings, meetings, field visits, specialized sessions and more than 15 workshops, during which the capacities of about 400 employees built on 3 axes: government capacity building, business and economy incubators and accelerators.
For his part, His Excellency Rawda Mohammed Al Otaiba confirmed that the bilateral cooperation in government work with the Republic of Costa Rica confirms the distinct relations between the two friendly countries and embodies the directives of the UAE leadership in adopting the partnership and cooperation approach to advance the work of government and establish a new generation of governments to empower corporations and industry the recipient to make positive change.
His Excellency said that the UAE is keen to strengthen international relations and build partnerships aimed at developing experiences, working tools and models that adopt sustainable and proactive foundations that anticipate challenges and devise solutions to rapid changes around the world.
It is worth noting that the governments of the UAE and the Republic of Costa Rica signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of government development, as part of the World Government Summit, in February 2019, with the aim of promoting the UAE’s successful exchange of government expertise and experience in the fields of future government work between the two countries, under the Government Knowledge Exchange Programme.
