Cairo, 4 October / WAM / The delegation of the Federal National Council group to the Arab parliament participated in the work of the first session of the Arab parliament of the third session of the third legislature, which took place at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of States Arabs in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The division’s delegation included His Excellency Muhammad Ahmed Al Yamahi, member of the Foreign Affairs, Politics and National Security Committee, Na’ema Abdullah Al-Sharhan, Second Vice President of the Federal National Council, member of Social, Educational and Cultural Affairs, Women’s Commission and Giovani, Ahmed Hamad Boushehab, member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Commission, and Shatha Saeed Al-Naqbi, Vice President of the Legislative, Legal Affairs and Human Rights Commission of the Arab Parliament.
His Excellency Muhammad Ahmed Al Yamahi said that during the session all the issues on the agenda and presented by the four committees were considered. of Palestine as the first central issue of the Arab world.
Al-Yamahi stressed that the session also discussed all Arab issues, in particular Sudan, Somalia, Iraq and Libya, and we stressed the need for coordination between all parties and to support the greater interest of the countries of the region.
In turn, His Excellency Naama Abdullah Al-Sharhan stressed the importance of the session’s work, as she discussed many important issues concerning all political, economic and social fields, women and youth, noting that the Social Affairs Committee has Many important draft resolutions presented at the session, including the indicative draft law for the protection of the Arabic language, and a draft indicative Arabic law to combat violence against women, together with a report on the launch activities of the document for the development of education in the Arab world.
Al-Sharhan stressed the importance of these laws, as they touch on many necessary issues. Protecting the Arabic language has become an imperative, especially with the younger generation, and in light of the many challenges it faces. We must all be aware that our Arabic language is our identity and must be preserved and protected.
In turn, Souad Ahmed Hamad Boushehab said the session discussed the reports of the standing committees of the Arab parliament, as well as the report of the Palestinian Committee, and also discussed a proposal to add the Arab Achievement Medal to the categories established in the regulations for the Arab Parliament Medal Award.
Boushehab said the Economic Committee held its first meeting at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and considered a number of topics, including the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee’s draft report on the Arab Forum on requirements to promote economic integration between Arab countries, and the completion of the study of the indicative bill in the field of artificial intelligence, and a draft report The economic situation in Arab countries for the year 2021, examining the activity report of the commission during the second round of the third legislature and approving the draft work plan of the commission during the third legislature of the third legislature.
For his part, HE Shatha Al-Naqbi affirmed the enthusiasm of the Arab parliament to pay attention to human rights issues and to always strive to be informed about the positive developments that occur in them, explaining that the Arab parliament is at the start of a new session full with many important issues through which we always try to coordinate the Arab positions.
Al-Naqbi noted that today’s session of the Arab Parliament is a roadmap for the new session, during which all important issues and legislation that are in the interest of joint Arab action were discussed.
