Al Ain, November 16, / WAM / The Student Affairs Sector at the UAE University, in conjunction with the International Day for Tolerance, which falls on November 16 every year, organized a cultural festival entitled “ The Emirates, the Homeland of Tolerance”, which included cultural and artistic activities, with the large participation of university students representing 27 countries.
Dr. Suad Al-Marzouqi, Deputy Associate Deputy for Student Affairs at the University confirmed that the UAEU is regarded as a national incubator and cultural building which includes many international students from over 75 countries and is eager to participate in this global opportunity to implement the vision of our wise leadership, embodying the thinking of tolerance, which has become a civilized approach and legacy.
He said, “Through the ‘United Arab Emirates, the Home of Tolerance’ activities, which will last 3 days at the university with the participation of 27 pavilions, we seek to deepen the dialogue and cultural and civilizational exchange, to ensure the acceptance of the other, and promote that approach for future generations”.
The festival’s activities included a series of art and folklore competitions and performances of different cultures. The students wanted to organize pavilions that showcased the cultures, customs and civilizations of the peoples of their countries, as well as showing films and musical performances prepared by the students .
