CAIRO, 6 October / WAM / The adult national team won the gold medal in the team sprint race of the Arabian Cycling Championship, after beating Algeria in a well-deserved manner, before the end of the race with 5 full rounds to add a new gold for the United Arab Emirates in the championship held in Cairo with the participation of 8 Arab teams.
Today our team got 12 medals in the second day races, bringing the number of medals to 17 colored medals.
The men of the national team, led by Youssef Mirza and players Ahmed Al-Mansoori, Jaber Al-Mansoori and Saif Mayouf, managed to win the team sprint race, with a historic number for the United Arab Emirates in one session, which has touched 14 seconds in the session.
Jaber Al-Mansoori managed to win a second gold for the UAE on the second day (the elimination race), and Ahmed Al-Mansoori finished second in the race, which saw the participation of 10 players from 7 countries, namely the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Algeria and Sudan.
On the second day 7 silver medals were won (girls speed difference – Khaled Mayouf in the kirin race, Safia al-Sayegh in the kirin race, silver in the same race as Huda Hussein Shabat, Sheikha Issa in the elimination and speed race women’s team).
The mission of the national team also won 3 bronze medals (Madison women Zahra Hussein and Maryam Al Zaabi, bronze exclusion for Huda Hussein Shabat and bronze exclusion for Safia Al Sayegh).
The number of UAE medals jumped to 17 at the end of the second day, with 4 golds, 10 silvers and 3 bronzes.
The second day saw the presence of the President of the United Arab Emirates Cycling Federation, Mansour Bu Asaiba, and the Secretary General, Yasser Al Dokhi.
Mansour Bouassiba expressed his happiness for the numbers achieved in the tournament so far and the number of medals won, and praised the senior team, which is achieving great results in every forum.
