Emirates News Agency – The capital of local shares exceeds 2.7 trillion dirhams… and the Abu Dhabi market continues to rise to historical levels

Abu Dhabi, August 11 / WAM / The local stock markets consolidated their gains at the conclusion of today’s session, and its market capital exceeded the barrier of 2.7 trillion dirhams, as the Abu Dhabi market continued to rise towards record levels, the highest in its history.

The market capital of the listed shares rose from 2.698 trillion dirhams at the end of yesterday’s session to 2.711 trillion dirhams at the end of today’s session, distributed by 2.145 trillion dirhams for shares listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange and 565.4 billion dirhams for shares listed on the Dubai Financial Market.

The Abu Dhabi market index rose by 1.04% to close at 10345.78 points, the highest level in the history of the market, while the Dubai Financial Market index reached the level of 3385.6 points.

Local shares attracted more than 1.7 billion dirhams of liquidity, distributed as 1.369 billion dirhams in the Abu Dhabi market and 336.6 million dirhams in the Dubai market. About 483.2 million shares were traded through the implementation of more than 17.6 thousand transactions.

Abu Dhabi market gains were boosted by a rise in “First Abu Dhabi” shares by 3.3%, “Abu Dhabi Commercial” by 2.12%, “Virtglobe” 1.67%, “ADNOC Distribution” 1.5%, “Yahsat” 0.75%, “Abu Dhabi Ports” 0.61%, and “Abu Dhabi Ports” 0.61%. Alpha Abu Dhabi 0.5% and I&E – previously Etisalat 0.43%.

Global Holding topped the activity, attracting more than 388.2 million dirhams of liquidity to close at 348 dirhams, while the company announced today its acquisition of a 50% stake in Calyon Energy in Turkey for 1.8 billion dirhams.

In the Dubai Financial Market, the “Emirates NBD” share rose 0.36%, “Dubai Financial Market” 1.72%, “Union Cooperative” 0.26%, “Emaar Development” 1.13% and “Dewa” 1.17%, and “Emaar Properties” led the activity after Attracting liquidity by about 79.9 million dirhams, to close with an increase of 0.17%.
