SHARJAH, 26 February / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry – represented by the Sharjah Export Development Center – achieved a successful participation in the 28th session of the “Gulfood 2023” exhibition, which recently concluded its activities at the Dubai World Trade Center through its pavilion, which brought together a number of national institutions and companies. Specialized in the manufacture and trade of foodstuffs, and witnessed a great interaction from investors and major players in the food and beverage sector around the world.
The Chamber’s pavilion witnessed the organization of a number of meetings with representatives of Arab and international delegations participating in the exhibition, where His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with a Russian and Iraqi economic delegation, investors and businessmen from different countries of the world, during which they discussed areas of cooperation and coordination to promote the products of their companies. In the UAE market, which is one of the most important centers for food trade in the world.
Abdulaziz Shattaf, Assistant Director General of the Communication and Business Sector at the Sharjah Chamber, confirmed that the participation of the Chamber represented by the Sharjah Export Development Center, accompanied by national companies operating in Sharjah, and its constant keenness to be present in this global event, which this year attracted more than 5 thousand exhibitors, comes in line with the UAE’s directions in Facilitating trade and sustainability of food and enabling people’s access to food resources, which is a strategic priority for the state, indicating that the Chamber was able during the days of the exhibition to enable national companies and find space for them to promote their products, find new markets and reach new importers, investors and partners, which contributes to increasing the market shares of the local exporter In global markets and enhance the contribution of the food sector to the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Sharjah.
For his part, Ali Al-Jari, Director of the Sharjah Center for Export Development, indicated that the center’s participation in the exhibition came with the aim of strengthening local industries and opening new export channels for Emirati companies in the local, regional and international markets. The center reviewed the available investment opportunities in the food industry sector at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah. On the competitive advantages and attractive incentives provided by the Emirate to foreign investors, which enable them to establish and conduct business easily in a safe and stable economic environment that guarantees them achieving the best returns and expansion in the region’s markets.
A number of representatives of Emirati companies that participated in the center’s platform stressed the importance of participation and its fruitful results, expressing their appreciation for the efforts made by the Sharjah Chamber to support the interests of the local business community and its constant endeavor to open new markets for the export of national products.
The Sharjah Export Development Center, with the support of the Sharjah Chamber, seeks to promote exports to national enterprises through specialized exhibitions through an annual plan for the participation of members in various local and international exhibitions, which would be an appropriate platform for promoting Emirati products and highlighting their quality.
