Emirates News Agency – ‘Sharjah Ashghal’ steps up readiness rating in its ongoing projects to cope with weather conditions

SHARJAH, 28th December, 2020 (WAM) — Eng. Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, head of Sharjah Public Works Department, confirmed that the department has raised the maximum level of readiness to face the weather and rainfall as it strictly follows the meteorology.

During his inspection of the progress of the works in the department’s projects, Al-Suwaidi appreciated the efforts of the work crews who worked round the clock, indicating that the relevant departments ordered the contractor companies operating in their existing projects put in place all ancillary mechanisms to support emergency crews when needed.

He pointed out that the qualified cadres have prepared a proactive plan to deal with the rainy season, as they have formed working groups for emergency cases, and the department’s building maintenance department has prepared a proactive plan to ensure safety factors in the 404 buildings it oversees across the emirate.
