ABU DHABI, 14th January, 2020 (WAM) — Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended a lecture organized by the Mohammed bin Zayed Council at Al Bateen Palace – as part of his series of lectures – under the title “The Future of Scientific Research”.
The lecture, which was attended by a number of sheikhs and officials, was presented by Professor David Gross, the Nobel Prize winner in Physics – with the participation of other scientists – and Dr. Ahmed Eid Al Muhairi, the Emirati physicist.
The lecture dealt with the subject of modern scientific research, its multiple nature, its classifications, and how to accelerate its pace through modern research institutions, in addition to the most influential types of scientific research. And other topics that covered various aspects of the future of scientific research, the subject of the lecture.
And she concluded that the history of modernity or modernity is, in essence, the history of scientific and technological progress, and that sudden changes brought about by scientific discoveries often constitute new transformative stages throughout human history that contribute to its renaissance and progress in various fields..while these changes are usually attributed to practical science or technology, unlike For the truth while it arose from research in the basic sciences i.e. the practice of science.
Professor David Gorse said, “The main starting point for any scientific development begins with curiosity and a strong desire to search for answers to the great questions created by nature around us.”
Gorse believes that the steps taken by the UAE in the field of promoting science are moving in the right direction, through initiatives to support and attract innovators and provide the necessary resources and logistical services to help them achieve their ambitions. your leaders and their support.”
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Eid Al Muhairi, Assistant Professor of Physics at New York University in Abu Dhabi, stressed the importance of adopting and embracing young energies, pointing out that he seeks, through the support provided by the leadership in the UAE, to develop programs to support natural sciences and help develop young energies among the sons of UAE.
He explained that the UAE could play a strategic role in linking international schools and centers of physics between East and West, while reviewing part of his biography and scientific life.
