Moscow, January 10 / WAM / The Republic of Yakutia in the far east of Russia recorded a very low temperature of 61 degrees below zero today.
According to meteorologists, the temperature dropped below 45 degrees below zero in nine regions of Russia, at a time when the capital of the Republic of Yakutia, Yakutsk, recorded 42 degrees below zero, prompting city authorities to cancel attendance classes in the schools and to move After, for some sections, while the Magadan region and many of its villages witnessed a wave of frost, when the temperature dropped to minus 50 degrees, the temperature in the village of Gelinda in Yakutia dropped to minus 61 degrees.
Last December, some rural areas of the Republic of Yakutia recorded a temperature of minus 70, considered the most intense frost in one of the coldest places on earth.
