MUSCAT, 23rd April, 2020 (WAM) — The UAE’s pavilions participating in the 27th Muscat International Book Fair are witnessing a remarkable turnout from various segments and categories of visitors, who praised their contents, which include books and scientific series covering many cultural, political, economic, and security fields, future foresight, and the values ​​of peace, tolerance, coexistence, and sustainable development. .

Ahmed bin Rakad Al-Amiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said – in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM – that this participation witnesses the launch of many new publications, including the book “History of Al-Busaid Imams in Oman” 1749-1856, the latest publication of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi. Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah, which is the fourth part of the “Sultan of History” series, in which the Ruler of Sharjah narrates the history of Oman during a period of time led by four imams whose goal was to preserve the nation and the Omani land.

This session of the Muscat International Book Fair witnesses several interactive activities for children, amounting to approximately 166 activities distributed between the reading, writing and arts corner, the science corner, the theater and the Children’s Museum, with the participation of 85 official and private entities, 51 writers and artists from the Sultanate of Oman and 7 writers and artists from the Arab world.

Among these events are programs on games, training, drawing, traditional handicrafts, entertainment, oral stories, presentations of scientific innovations with readings of stories in the Omani dialect, and the presentation of the first experiment in the Sultanate of Oman and the Arabian Gulf, with reading sessions and educational and artistic activities.
