Emirates News Agency – Registration for the 22-foot Rabdan Dhow Race is now open

ABU DHABI, 24th January, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced the opening of registration for the “Rabdan Dhow Race” 22 feet, which the club will organize next Friday, as part of the heritage racing programs that it organizes during this season.
The race is the second round for the 22-foot sailing bearings, and this category finds a great demand for participation by young people who are keen to be present in all races, as it represents the first stop on the ladder of heritage races, from which the sailors start to the largest categories, which are 43 and 60 feet.
The first round was held last week, the Sheikh Zayed Festival race, where he was crowned with the loaded title “Hashim”, and witnessed a large participation.
The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club attaches great importance to heritage races, which the club’s program includes organizing many of them on various occasions, in support of efforts to preserve the heritage of parents and grandparents.
Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of the Heritage Races Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, stressed that the heritage races represent the main pillar in the continuation of the glow of the marine heritage that the fathers and grandfathers lived through in the past decades, and we now offer it to the youth of the country to learn about the value of the sea and the good that its waves carry.
He said that the first round of this category witnessed the participation of 46 loaders in the Sheikh Zayed Festival race, and he expected that the Rabdan race would witness an increase in the number of participants.
Khalifa Al-Rumaithi praised Al-Nukhadha and the sailors who participated in all the past heritage races, for their commitment and keenness to be present in these races, hoping that this turnout will continue in the upcoming races.
