Basra, January 9, WAM/ The Omani national team snatched an important victory from the Yemeni national team, 3-2, in the return match of the first round of the Arabian Gulf Cup “Gulf 25”, which took place at the Basra International Stadium today, with a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and below, pouring rain.
The Omani team raised their tally to 4 points, while the Yemeni team remained without points.
The Omani team opened the scoring early in the 2nd minute, with a reverse goal from Ali Fadl, the Yemeni player, mistakenly into his own net. The Yemeni team responded quickly after 10 minutes with a goal from a penalty kick by Abdul Wasea Al-Matari and the Yemeni team advanced in the 30th minute with Omar Al-Dahi with a powerful shot Outside the penalty area, and before the end of the first half, Oman national team responded with an equalizing goal through Arshad Al-Alawi in the 40th minute from a direct free kick.. In the second half, the Omani national team strengthened their advantage with the third goal, repeating the scenario of the first half, with the early registration of Essam Al-Subhi in the 47th minute, with a header, which bounced off the crossbar and headed in door of the yemeni national team.
The Yemeni team almost equalized in the dying moments after winning a penalty kick, but their player Omar Al-Dahi missed it after the Omani goalkeeper saved it in the 90+5 minute.
