ABU DHABI, 30th January, 2023 (WAM) — Culture and Youth Minister Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi has chaired the first meeting of the reconstituted General Committee of the National Commission for Education and Science. The meeting was attended by representatives from various ministries and local/federal authorities. Members reviewed the commission’s vision, achievements and strategy for 2023-2026, and a task force was formed to implement the strategic plan. The challenges facing the national commission were discussed and important topics in education and science were reviewed. Al Kaabi said the formation of the commission shows the ministry’s support for the UAE’s relations with other countries and organizations and aims to expand cooperation in education, culture and science.
The general committee includes representatives from various government agencies and will undertake tasks aimed at strengthening the country’s position on the world stage. It will approve plans to foster cooperation between the National Commission and regional/international bodies, study and express opinions on treaties, and take the necessary measures to strengthen cooperation.
The commission seeks to promote sustainable education and protect cultural heritage in cooperation with international organizations, and supports sub-commissions for education, heritage and science.
