ABU DHABI, 11th February, 2020 (WAM) — Al-Khaleej newspaper confirmed that the UAE spares no effort in providing assistance to brotherly Iraq at various levels so that it recovers from the effects of terrorism and occupation, and returns to the bosom of its nation in order to continue playing its national and national role, and to restore its unity, stability, wellness and security. .
The newspaper said – in its editorial today under the title “Iraq of Civilization and Science” – in the two meetings that brought together His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, May God bless him, with the Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, the true meanings of brotherhood and the depth of ties between the leaderships and peoples of the two countries were translated.
The newspaper noted that the two meetings confirmed a consensus of visions towards various issues of common interest, in various fields, and with regard to the crises of the region, and there was a remarkable position from the leadership of the Emirates on the historical and civilized role of Iraq, through the assertion of His Highness, the President of the State (that dear Iraq is for him A special place in the hearts of the Emirati people), and support for all steps (for the sake of Iraq’s unity, sovereignty, prosperity and progress), while His Highness, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted, saying (We want to develop economic and popular relations with our brothers in Iraq … the Iraq of civilization and science. The Iraq of poetry and literature, the Iraq of brotherhood and love, and the loyal Iraqi people to their Arab brothers.
The newspaper said: This is how we know Iraq, which was struck by terrorism, causing a deep wound in it that has not yet healed, and was burnt by the fire of the American occupation, which destroyed its buildings, and almost ignited wars and internal strife, tearing the bonds and unity of its people. But we also know Iraq, which rises like a phoenix from under the ashes to continue its civilizational path that goes back thousands of years, inspiring the world with farming methods and the principles of laws, through the civilizations that succeeded on its land from Sumeria, Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian, at a time when the rest of the world was covered in ignorance and backwardness.
And the “Gulf” concluded its editorial by saying: We know Iraq as the land of blackness and goodness, planting and palm trees that used to cover its land between the two rivers, and we know it as the land of knowledge, poets and writers who published the most beautiful and purest of it, and we know it as the sword of the Arabs and the protector of its eastern front, about which Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab said, “May God be pleased with him.” (Iraq is the skull of the Arabs, the treasure of faith, the substance of cities, the spear of God on earth, the spear of Islam, and the fortress of the frontiers, so rest assured, for the spear of God is not broken).
