FUJAIRAH, 11th February, 2020 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, affirmed the role of tournaments in attracting athletes from different countries of the world, and in strengthening the sports sector in the country and advancing it towards globalization.
This came during the presence of His Highness, the conclusion of the Fujairah International Mountain Shooting Championship, and the coronation of the winners in all its categories.
His Highness referred to the support of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for all kinds of sports, and His Highness’s directives to host and organize quality tournaments in the emirate, in a way that serves the country’s directions in the sports field and enhances its presence in it globally.
The closing ceremony of the tournament began with a speech presented by Colonel Saif Al-Zahmi, Director of the Championship, expressing his thanks and appreciation to His Highness, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for sponsoring the event and providing all capabilities for its success.
His Highness crowned the winners of the championship competitions with the highest totals, and also honored the sponsors and contributors in supporting and making the event a success.
The ceremony included a film about the championship, its accompanying activities and the reactions of the participants since its inception until the last day.
His Highness, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, praised the level of organization of the championship and the efforts of the committees in it, praising the success achieved by the championship in mountain shooting at the world level, and the positive resonance it left behind in the sports and community circles.
The Frenchman Mathieu Delmas won the first place in the open category, while the American Madison Sharp won the first place in the women’s category, and in the junior category, the American Joseph Fanese won the first place, and the Italian competitor Alessandro Gaetani came first in the men’s category.
The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Amiri Diwan in Fujairah, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Excellency Salem Al Zahmi, Advisor to the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, a number of directors and officials, and a large audience.
