ABU DHABI, September 15 / WAM / The Ministry of Finance has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the Association of Internal Auditors, automatically renewed, with the aim of extending and strengthening joint cooperation and coordination in the field of initiatives and Community projects, the exchange of internal working systems and procedures and the improvement of internal audit services.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, Fatima Al-Naqbi, the interim Undersecretary for Support Services Affairs, while it was signed by Abdul Qadir Obaid Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors, at the headquarters of the Ministry in Dubai.
Fatima Al-Naqbi stressed the importance of this memorandum to strengthen joint efforts to develop the services provided by both sides and improve internal skills and competences, organizing events, activities, training courses and workshops to ensure the implementation of the international best practices in all aspects of the work.
Al-Naqbi said: “The Ministry of Finance works with all relevant authorities to hold seminars and workshops that improve the level of services provided and improve the exchange of experience in the field of internal systems and working procedures to advance progress. and serve the public interest, especially as internal audit issues are among the most important issues that ensure credibility, honesty and transparency in public finance.
Abdul Qader stressed the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and expressed the aspiration that this partnership would be the cornerstone to lay the foundations and standards for internal audit according to international best practices in all relevant sectors, so as to ensure integrity, transparency and equal opportunities to discover and develop skills and define general frameworks that help address issues Financial transparency, which improves the quality of finance-related issues.
Under this protocol, the Ministry of Finance will work to provide the structures and human skills necessary to implement the programs and activities related to the internal audit mission, while the association undertakes to prepare and implement courses and training programs and providing advice on internal audit field, including internal control, risk management and governance issues, as well as providing quality assurance service.
