ABU DHABI, January 6 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council of the Abu Dhabi Emirate and Head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan , visited the Liwa International Festival 2023 which is supervised by Liwa Sports Club in collaboration with Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
During the visit, His Highness inspected some of the festival’s activities and commended the efforts of the organizers and their success in holding this important event which celebrates the UAE’s heritage and helps boost the UAE’s tourism sector through the ‘influx of a large number of tourists from within and outside the country.
Their Highnesses were accompanied during this visit by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Pilot Major-General Fares Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief Abu Dhabi Police, and His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Given the success of the festival and the large attendance, estimated in the hundreds of thousands since the beginning of the festival last December 16th, the current session has seen an extension of its stay for an additional week which will continue until January 8th.
