ABU DHABI, November 21, WAM, The Industrial Accelerator Sector in the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology held a “focus group” through a customer council comprising various industries in the country, to raise awareness of the application service an increase in the quantity of a substance registered in duty free, as a support service to the priority services provided by the Ministry, on the basis of the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technologies, involving the private sector in the development of the service system of the Ministry, and in line with the ‘UAE Government Promise’ to deliver proactive, interconnected and integrated digital government services that fit the lifestyle of the future and respecting the principles of listening to the customer’s voice and transparency.
The meeting, which was attended by several state-level factory representatives, included developments in the duty-free package of services, the legal legislation governing the service, the most important reasons for rejecting certain applications submitted by manufacturers, and the scheme of the journey of the customer experience with the service, in a way that focuses on supporting the improvement of the quality of related services. The priority given to the industrial community in the country, in a way that supports the strategic objectives of the ministry, such as how create an attractive business environment for local and international investors in the industrial sector, supporting the growth of national industries and improving their competitiveness.
The Ministry said it would raise indicators of industry awareness of developments related to priority services and a focus group was organized to inform the industry community of developments in the development of a package of duty free services, after liaising electronically with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in addition to highlighting the legal legislation that regulates the service, presented the service charter, and the new updates after the recent adoption by the Council of Ministers of the policy of exemption from customs duties of inputs industry in the country, which will have significant positive effects on the country’s industrial sector.
The “focus group” touched on the most important industrial projects that qualify as priorities for customs duty exemption, such as projects that produce goods for local consumption and have a high export capacity, and projects that use local raw materials, as well as projects of national economic importance or included in the state development plan, all of which are priority industrial projects.
The Ministry’s Customer Happiness Team explained in detail to the establishments the procedures and methods of requesting the service, and viewed the information and data of the service, the availability of a valid industrial production license, the invoices certified through the service connected to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC), and the presentation of the bill of lading/packing list/certificate of origin and other documents.
The meeting was attended by factories including Emirates Steel, Dubai Cables Company Ltd., Taghlef Industries Company, Falcon Pack Industries LLC, Ras Al Khaimah Ceramics Company PJSC, National Paints Factories Ltd. and Arab Extrusions Factory. companies.
For the factory to obtain approval, the application must first be submitted through the digital platform for Ministry services, an application to register a material for duty exemption, or to request an increase in the quantities of exempt materials (moiat. gov .ae) Before the competent local authorities, the participants were also informed about the most important reasons for rejecting the submitted addition and addition requests, including the fact that the requested material does not enter into industrial activities, or that it is completely manufactured, or which is not free of customs duties and other reasons.
