DOHA, December 13, WAM/ France national soccer team head coach Didier Deschamps admitted the difficulty of the matchup facing his side tomorrow, Wednesday, against their Moroccan counterpart in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
Deschamps stressed that the Moroccan national team enjoys huge public support in the tournament, which has contributed to the team’s success in the current World Cup.
Deschamps said – in a press conference – that his team has overcome more than one difficult obstacle on their way to defending their title in the current championship, and the team has also shown that they have a good spirit and the ability to face challenges, even if some players are getting their first experience in World Cup tournaments.
At the same time, Deschamps praised the distinguished role Antoine Griezmann has played with the France national team in the tournament so far, indicating that the team need Griezmann to be equally efficient in tomorrow’s match, as he is a player capable of changing the whole team because he is diligent and has a natural talent.
Deschamps paid tribute to Walid Rekragui, the Morocco national team manager, in the current World Cup, and described his side’s semi-final finish as an “extraordinary result” which shows he is a strong manager.
Deschamps commented on the Moroccan national team’s style of play, saying they are a team that focuses on quick transitions and counter-attacks, and said: But most good teams do this because when you get the ball back from your opponent as he attacks you, You can quickly create chances, turn the tables and score goals, and these are opportunities you have to. The difference is to take it and the Moroccan players are very good at that.

Deschamps underlined: “Each team has its own game plan which is adjustable, and each team tries to achieve the highest percentage of possession. The goal is not possession, but a way to create chances to score.
