MUSCAT, September 19 / WAM / The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council attended the 15th preparatory meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and External Relations Commission for the periodic meeting of Their Excellencies, Heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and National Councils of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, held today in the capital of Oman, Muscat, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Yaqoub bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Vice President of the Shura Council of Oman, to prepare the work of the sixteenth periodic meeting of the heads of the Gulf legislative councils.
The UAE Parliamentary Division delegation included His Excellency Humaid Ali Al Abbar Al Shamsi, Division Group Chairman, at the regular meeting of the heads of the Gulf Legislative Councils, and His Excellency Yousef Abdullah Al-Batran, member of the group.
His Excellency Hamid Ali Al-Abbar, member of the Federal National Council, said that the Parliamentary Division presented a proposal to discuss the topic “The role of the legislative councils of the Gulf in protecting social values from abnormal ideas that contradict Islamic constants, “following the developments taking place on this topic, while a wave of attempts is intensifying these days. The intellectual change of Gulf societies, customs and values, which human rights organizations and media organizations adopt with the aim of changing the normal thinking of young people through the dissemination of systematic and organized ideas that contradict values social principles and principles of our countries, which have made the issue of protecting intellectual security an urgent necessity for the security of societies.
Al-Abbar said a joint statement was issued by the General Authority for Audiovisual Media and the Committee of Electronic Media Officials in the States of the Cooperation Council, regarding the directive to remove offensive content on the Netflix platform, “Netflix “, and this action coincides with the theme proposed by the Parliamentary Division of the United Arab Emirates. He pointed out that many countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council have begun to take serious measures against media platforms that publish materials that contradict common sense, in order to protect the system of moral values consistent with human nature that sees the family as a unity composed of the father, mother and children.
In his speech, Al-Abbar emphasized the role of legislative councils in protecting the family by modernizing family policies, in a way that does not conflict with Islamic law and the social customs and traditions that characterize societies, preserve their identity and ensure its continuity, prosperity and consolidation for future generations, as well as encouraging community participation and laying the foundations for responsibility among individuals. The community to interact with authorities and institutions that deal with the family, to keep up with the needs of the community and to identify the most important challenges at an early stage, which guarantees an effective response to them.

The meeting discussed a number of points, including the Gulf Common Issues presented by the Gulf Legislative Councils, which numbered more than / 15 / proposals, in which it was agreed to choose three topics entitled “The Role of the Legislative Councils of the Gulf in the consolidation of inter-investment and support to the national economy “, and” its role in protecting the values of society through the media, social media and the Internet “, and” the role of councils in supporting the achievement of security computer science through the exploitation of artificial intelligence “; The topics will be presented at the sixteenth ordinary meeting of Their Excellencies, Heads of Shura, Representatives, National and National Councils in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, to be held on 21 September, chaired by His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Rapporteur of the Council of the Shura of the Sultanate of Oman, to choose a topic between them and a symposium will be organized later in the presidency of a country.
The proposal to set up a commission for cooperation with the parliaments of Latin American countries and the proposal to submit the final recommendations to the Gulf joint seminars to the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council were also discussed on the agenda of the meeting. for the Arab states of the Gulf.
