ABU DHABI, 29 October / WAM / The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, during its participation in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference “ADIPEC 2022”, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center “ADNEC” in period from From 31 October to 3 November 2022, will review the results achieved by the country in the energy sector The most important innovative and pioneering projects and initiatives in the sector, in particular the clean ones.
His Excellency Ing. Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Energy and Oil Sector, said: “The Ministry’s participation in the ADIPEC exhibition and conference represents a consolidation of its leadership position at regional and global level. , and an embodiment of its efforts to exchange experience and knowledge, in order to serve the UAE’s efforts to diversify energy sources, achieve climate neutrality and improve cooperation opportunities between policy makers and decision makers in the sector energy, to support the development of a sustainable, safe and economical energy system.
Scholars pointed out that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, as part of its participation, will shed light on the UAE’s achievements in the field of energy, especially clean energy, and its distinguished efforts in environmental sustainability. and in addressing the phenomenon of climate change, and its future goals which are in line with the “Fifty Principles”, effective steps, measures and initiatives. The quality and ambition that support the UAE’s march towards global leadership in the field of energy, sustainability and climate change, in order to achieve the 2071 UAE Centennial Goals.
He stressed that the ministry wishes to actively participate in the ADIPEC exhibition and conference, as it is one of the most important international trade fairs and conferences related to the energy sector and a real opportunity for consultation and discussion in everything that would advance the sector and meet challenges. imposed by global changes, in line with the vision of our wise leadership in strengthening the Concepts of safety, sustainability and energy efficiency.
He stressed the importance of this current ADIPEC session, as it takes place one week before the start of the activities of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), hosted by the Republic of Egypt and one year before the UAE hosted the session (COP 28) and in conjunction with the global challenges facing the sector, especially those related to energy supply.
He noted that the UAE has a clear future direction to achieve climate neutrality, preserve the environment and natural resources and move forward with related plans, so in October 2021 it announced its strategic initiative for climate neutrality by 2050, making the United Arab Emirates the first country in the Middle East and North Africa Announces its goal in this field.
His Excellency said: “During the last period, we have worked vigorously within the framework of the message of wise leadership to promote the energy sector, especially clean energy, combining efforts and capabilities to consolidate the position of the state and enable a sustainable growth in the sector. Today, we are confidently moving forward towards further results for the next fifty years and that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has a close collaboration with various federal and local authorities, to achieve the goals of climate neutrality, as climate change is one of the most important issues nationally, regionally and globally.
