Al Dhafra, January 29, 2020, WAM / The Organizing Committee of Al Dhafra Festival crowned the winners of the “Chefs Competition” for traditional cooking in the women’s dishes in the Al Dhafra Heritage Market, as part of the competitions and events of the 16th session that is being held in Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafra Region.
The coronation was attended by Mubarak Al Darmaki and Laila Al Qubaisi from the organizing committee, Emirati chef Mona Al Mansouri, the participants in the competition and a number of festival visitors.
Chef Mona Saeed Obaid Berman won the first place in the competition, Chef Aisha Abdullah Saif Muhammad Al-Shehhi came in second place, and Chef Hoda Saber came in third place.
The chefs presented a number of traditional Emirati food, through a live show in front of visitors to the heritage market of Al Dhafra. The competition jury, consisting of Chef Mona Al Mansouri, specialist in traditional food, Rashid Al Qubaisi, evaluated the dishes prepared by the chefs.
The chef competition aims to shed light on popular Emirati food and sweets, introduce the public to them and taste them, and motivate and encourage the practice of this profession.
