Al Ain, November 13, WAM/Al Ain shooter Yahya Al Muhairi took the lead on the opening day of the 6th ‘Turab’ Cup Shooting Championship, organized by the UAE Shooting Federation at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Hasher Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Shooting Federation, commended the great interest and enthusiasm he has seen from the shooters and their desire to compete strongly to be able to reserve the qualification for the ranks of the national team.
The opening day saw exciting competition due to the tight date for the establishment of the qualifying table to represent the country in official overseas tournaments.
Al-Muhairi took the lead on day one after collecting 70 of 75 bowls over the three rounds, and shooter Saif Al Shamsi finished second (68 bowls), followed by Ahmed Al Hammadi and Mishaal Al-Banai with a score of 66 bowls each, then Walid Al-Aryani (65 bowls) and Zahir Al-Ariani (63 bowls).
In determined people competitions, Kuwaiti shooter Falah Al-Hajri won the first day with a score of 60 points, followed by Muhammad Hashel Al-Habsi (57 points), Muhammad Ali Al-Hashemi (55 points), then Saif Hilal Al-Hamiri (50 points) and Saeed Salham Al-Mazrouei (45 points).
Fatima Mubarak took first place in the women’s championship, followed by Aisha bint Hatem in second place.
And the competitions will be completed by throwing 50 bowls in two rounds before the curtain falls on the championship competitions, which is the third evaluation of our team’s shooters to rank them after the fourth evaluation scheduled for November 26 and 27, where the results of the collected the best 3 evaluations out of 4 to calculate the average per ram and therefore the extent to which it reaches the number established by the technical commission, which is 118 according to the qualification criterion.
And in case no Ram can reach a rate of 118 under the rules, first and second will be determined in the general order, to join Rami Hamad bin Mejren to represent our team.
In the event that none of the three shooters is unable to travel, the technical commission will determine the identity of the shooter who will replace him, with reference to the results achieved by the shooter in the three evaluations.
