DUBAI, 9th November 2019 (WAM) – Al-Futtaim Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Community Development to empower Emirati productive families and encourage them to provide entrepreneurship opportunities through shopping malls, as well as obtain support for the Ministry’s Development Project “Sanaa”, in the presence of His Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Minister of Development of the Company.

The memorandum was signed by Moza Ibrahim Al-Akraf Al-Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Community Development, and Moza Omar Al-Futtaim, Ambassador for Social Responsibility of the Al-Futtaim Group.

The MoU entered the framework of the strategic partnership between the Al-Futtaim Group and the Ministry of Community Development, affirming its commitment to strengthening the Emirati community and encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship, as it aims to support productive families of the Emirates to achieve economic and social stability, with a primary focus on empowering productive families and micro-enterprises registered with the Community’s Ministry of Development, providing means of support and sustainability, and contributing with various means to its growth and development.

As part of this cooperation, Al-Futtaim Malls Group will provide extensive indoor and outdoor retail space at Jebel Ali’s Festival Plaza Mall, including temporary kiosks, shops and outlets where Emirati families and determined individuals can sell their handcrafted products. with the aim of empowering local families by earning an additional income that guarantees them a decent quality of life.

Coinciding with the 51st UAE National Day, the Festival Plaza Mall will host thirty outdoor stands dedicated to the “Sanaa” event to showcase the distinguished talents of Emirati craftsmen, highlight their skills and energies and strengthen their role. in society as contributors and participants in the economic development of the country.

His Excellency Moza Ibrahim Al Akraf Al Suwaidi said the “Sana’a” project is one of the sustainable and distinct projects in the UAE aimed at raising the economic level of Emirati productive families through micro-projects that enhance efforts to empower family of the Emirates within the distinct projects managed by young, old and talented and determined people, who support the improvement of their development role in society as well as demonstrate their effective contribution and participation in the economic development of the UAE.

Al-Akraf stressed that the support provided by the Al-Futtaim Group within the community partnership of the Ministry of Community Development with the private sector will strengthen the effectiveness, quality and competitiveness of Emirati household products, motivated by this important marketing opportunities and will motivate community members to think more broadly about adopting micro-enterprises that benefit the development of the community: the individual, family and society.

For her part, Moza Omar Al-Futtaim expressed her joy that the group is part of this strategic cooperation with the Community Development Ministry to help support the “Sana’a” development project, since we of the Al-Futtaim Group we always strive to create opportunities for the Emirates and support local talent.
