This took place in the dialogue session that hosted Dr. Sarah Daher, president of the “Bil Arabiya for Language and Modernization” association, and Dr. Bakri Muhammad Al-Hajj, head of the Arabic Language Academy in Khartoum.
On the contemporary challenges facing the Arabic language, Dr Sarah Daher stressed the need to remedy the mistakes made by many speakers of the Arabic language, especially people addressing the public, including administrators, diplomats and professionals. of the media, and what is required to establish controls for their use of the language in order to protect and promote it.
He highlighted a serious flaw represented in the alienation of many students from grammar and morphology curricula because they feel they are moving to another world during their lessons, despite their ability to use classical, which they treat as a means to pass exams without wanting to. use through social networking sites.
For his part, Muhammad Bakri Al-Hajj referred to the nature of the efforts that the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy has done best, to become a link between the linguistic academies of the Arab world, deduced from his sponsorship of the historical dictionary project, in which the activities of ten linguistic academies were combined, into a national project that was the Arabic language Desperately needs to document the history of its vocabulary and stages of development through the centuries, a dream that Sharjah has finally succeeded to realize after the orientalist August Fischer presented his idea to the Academy of the Arabic language in Cairo before the outbreak of the Second World War prevented its completion.
