ABU DHABI, 29th December / WAM / Abu Dhabi will host the Argentine Super Cup match at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain on Friday 20th January as part of the strategic partnership agreement signed between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Argentine Football Federation, extending for four years, in support of partnership plans between Abu Dhabi and international sporting institutions and bodies, and as an extension of attracting elite international sporting events and working to host historic football sporting events in Abu dhabi.

The upcoming massive final, Boca Juniors, champions of the league last October, will bring together its counterpart Racing Club, champions of the cup last November, in one of the strongest football matches in South America and the whole world.

Football fans from all over the world will be able to enjoy this historic match outside the borders of Argentina, in a carnival atmosphere, coinciding with the brilliance of the Argentina national football team and its achievement of the FIFA world title which was held recently in Qatar.

Aref Hamad Al-Awani, secretary general of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, renewed his welcome to the establishment of the Argentine Super Cup in Abu Dhabi, indicating that Abu Dhabi is ready to host illustrious matches for the broad masses, which are within the goals of the ‘Abu Dhabi Sports Council to consolidate Abu Dhabi’s reputation and position as a global destination for sport.

Al-Awani said: Our hosting the Argentine Super Cup is an extension of the agreement signed with the Argentine Football Federation, which has shown its high heels, especially after the Argentina national football team won the World Cup (Qatar 2022 ), which enhances our important partnerships with international sports federations and institutions in the sporting events sector. The largest club, which helps to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the global sporting scene and its embrace of elite teams, and samples on its soil.

Claudio Tapia, President of the Argentine Football Federation, said: It is our pleasure to return to Abu Dhabi again, to offer football fans a hearty meal, with an exciting match between two great Argentine teams, Boca Juniors and Racing Club.

He added: We are happy to return to Abu Dhabi, where we witnessed the warmth, good hospitality and warm welcome from our partners in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council last November, and we promise everyone to continue expanding the horizons of our partnership with Abu Dhabi, for the benefit of all parties.
