ABU DHABI, 29th December, 2020 (WAM) — Participants in the 2nd Justice Partners Forum organized by the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department under the title ‘Legislative Developments for an Equitable Environment That Enhances Development and Investment’, discussed the legislative developments and most important articles and the elements developed in the federal decree-law n.35 of 2022 on evidence in civil and commercial transactions.
The forum represents an affirmation of the importance of working with lawyers as strategic partners of the judiciary and the interest in hearing their views to contribute to the continuous development and improvement of judicial and judicial services, in the framework of the implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Head of Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi, to achieve successful international quality justice.
The forum – which was held through visual communication technology in the virtual hall of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy – focused on discussing the most important amendments, materials and clauses that have been added to the new law on evidence in civil and business, as well as review of some cases pending before the courts, as well as the constants and principles formulated and defined by an Abu Dhabi Supreme Court.
Counselor Abdul Hafez Zaidan, President of the Abu Dhabi Family Court and Civil and Administrative Claims, and Counselor Ahmed Al Shahidi, Judge of the Abu Dhabi Family Court and Civil and Administrative Claims, spoke during the forum, emphasizing the importance of promoting scientific thinking and legal knowledge in dealing with new legal provisions, understanding their legal dimensions and developing a balanced approach to resolve new disputes in the context of legislative and judicial evolutions, in the presence of a large number of registered lawyers to the Legal Affairs Department of the Judiciary Department, and representatives of law firms and legal consultancies at national and international level.
