ABU DHABI, 11 August / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi recently released the novel “Fear of Something” by Emirati novelist Ali Abu Al-Rish.

The novel deals with an important psychological aspect that society experienced in the first period of the spread of the Corona epidemic, and the state of terror, fears and dark thoughts about the end of the world and the impossibility of controlling the pandemic that threatens the future of humanity.

The events of the novel take place in a village in the United Arab Emirates; Where the protagonist / Faisal / gets infected with the Corona virus and is cured of it, but he does not recover from the fear that the experience left inside him, until he became at odds with reality and whenever he thought about returning to his normal life, the image of the white bed and the ghost of death that surrounded the world became a prisoner of imaginary restrictions that he made For himself, he lives under the authority of self-impulses that force him to fall into the mud of painful thoughts, so he turns into another person who is different from what he was before the illness. The matter that causes a rift in the wall of the relationship between him and his girlfriend / Sheikha /, and this will have a great impact on the soul of the old woman who suffers great torments and counts the days and nights waiting for Faisal’s recovery to ask for her hand from her father.

The novel is not without a depiction of the Emirati village community, its relations and customs between the past and the present, through the memories that pass in the minds of Faisal and Sheikha about their childhood and the innocent love that united them since childhood.

With this novel, the creative writer Ali Abu Al-Rish adds a new creative work to his novelistic project, which he started decades ago, and his fictional works exceeded twenty works.
