DUBAI, 7th February, 2020 (WAM) — The UAE beach soccer team will play 9 friendly matches as part of its preparations to participate in the Asian Cup, which will be hosted by Pattaya, Thailand, from 16 to 26 March.
16 teams will participate in the tournament, which will be divided into four groups of 4 teams each.
The UAE national team begins its preparatory matches program against its Kuwaiti counterpart, who arrives today, Tuesday, in the country, where the two teams meet in 3 consecutive matches on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The UAE national team is expected to play three friendly matches against its Moroccan counterpart, and the same against the Russian national team, while the daily training continues, through which the technical staff aims to reach the highest rates of readiness before the start of the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the UAE beach soccer team plays in Group B of the Asian Cup, which includes Iran, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
For his part, Badr Hareb, director of our national beach soccer team, announced that the national team will continue to prepare until the date of the tournament, pointing out that the preparations are going well, and that the preparatory experiences that the national team will go through will greatly benefit the technical staff, especially as they face strong and experienced teams.
He said: “We were keen to provide strong preparatory matches for the national team so that the technical staff stands at the level of the players, and we look forward to getting out of them with great technical benefits, regardless of the results, because what is important in such matches is to gain more experience through contact with different football schools.”
He added, “The national team will continue to perform its training along with its friendly matches, in an effort to provide the best preparation for the national team before the Asian Championship competitions, during which we hope it will achieve good results.”
