Emirates News Agency – 10 initiatives for “Trends” during the month of reading

ABU DHABI, 7th March / WAM / The Trends Center for Research and Consultation launched 10 initiatives titled “Reading the present with the eyes of the future, and participating in making it”, on the occasion of the “Month of Reading”.

The initiatives constitute a cultural program that helps those interested, students and academics, and makes it easier for them to develop solutions and read the events.

Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of the Trends Center, said that the month of reading is a valuable seasonal opportunity to celebrate writers and books as a source for acquiring knowledge, expanding perceptions, and encouraging scientific research.

He stressed the importance of reading in all its forms and on its different media, whether on paper or electronically, stressing that it is the key to building minds and a source of ideas that contribute to building nations, and raising the cultural balance of the people of society in order to achieve the sustainability of the promotion of knowledge, which constitutes the gateway to sustainability in general.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Ali announced that Trends, coinciding with the month of reading, decided to donate a set of his latest research publications to a number of public libraries, with the aim of providing them with new knowledge content.

For his part, Talal Al-Hammadi, Head of Administrative Affairs Sector at Trends, said that “Trends” is keen to interact with the month of reading, emphasizing the qualitative goals of reading, which is the most important means of conveying the fruits of the human mind and its achievements, as it constitutes the cultural renaissance of society.
In turn, Rawda Al-Marzouqi, Director of Exhibitions and Distribution Department at the Trends Center, said that the center’s initiatives and activities are represented in organizing many panel discussions and dialogues with researchers and writers, in addition to holding workshops on scientific research and writing in general, highlighting the contributions and experiences of Trends researchers, and preparing materials in the form of Infographic and short videos talking about reading.

She added that among the initiatives is highlighting the Center’s contributions, publications and participation in cultural forums, in addition to mutual visits with libraries and cultural institutions, and setting questions and knowledge competitions throughout the week.
