Emirates Literature Foundation Announces Launch of 2024 Chevron Readers’ Cup and Emirates NBD – Poetry for All Competitions

Dubai, September 28 / WAM / The Emirates Literature Foundation announced the launch of the 2024 edition of the “Chevron” Readers’ Cup and “Emirates NBD – Poetry for All” competitions for students.
Both educational initiatives seek to support young talents, develop a love of literature, and promote creative artistic expression among young people across the region, as well as nurture young talents, provide them with literary knowledge, and enrich the creative artistic scene in the region.
Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation, Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, and Administrative Director of ELF Publishing, said: “We realize that every child has different abilities and interests, so we designed these competitions to suit all children. We seek to give every child the opportunity to learn about and enjoy literature no matter what.” Regardless of the way he expresses himself, we believe that every child has the ability to enjoy stories and anecdotes.”

Moaz Bukhash, Executive Marketing Director at Emirates NBD, expressed his support for the Emirates NBD “Poetry for All” competition, organized by the Emirates Literature Foundation, pointing out that the bank, as one of the leading local banks, shows a deep commitment to Emirati society, especially since we believe that preserving Culture and innovation should go hand in hand and the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature allows us to give back to our community and contribute to protecting the rich cultural heritage of our beloved country by providing students with a platform to carry on the legacy of our ancestors.
The Chevron Readers’ Cup competition seeks to enhance students’ love of reading and develop their skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and understanding of literature.
Students will undertake a reading challenge that includes a list of selected books to answer interesting questions centered around them.
The “Emirates NBD – Poetry for All” competition celebrates the beauty of poetry reciting and gives students the opportunity to explore their poetic abilities and express their feelings and thoughts through poetry.

The competition focuses on developing students’ self-expression skills, cultural appreciation, and emotional depth, and gives them the opportunity to showcase their talents and communicate with their peers.

The two competitions are held in Arabic and English. The Chevron Readers’ Cup competition accepts entries from full-time students in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait), while the “Emirates NBD – Poetry for All” competition accepts entries from all countries. Full-time students in the United Arab Emirates. The deadline for registration in the competitions is October 24, 2023.
The winners will be honored at an awards ceremony during the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in January and February 2024.
