In this context, Khaled Kazim, Director of Talent Attraction and Emiratisation at the company, said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of International Youth Day, which falls on August 12 of each year, that Emirates Global Aluminum was inspired by the thought of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, within the framework of empowering the human wealth, being the most precious to the country, as well as empowering the national cadres, including Emirati women, to be an effective element and capable of contributing to construction and development.
He added that the company has invested about $150 million in the past seven years to train and qualify national cadres, as it relies on its employees to ensure its continued success and distinction, as the company attaches great importance to developing the skills of its employees by organizing various training and educational opportunities, referring to the “trained graduates” program that He contributes to attracting new graduates and preparing them for all positions in the company, explaining that the company includes members of the executive committee who joined as trainee graduates, including Abdel Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of the company, in addition to a number of executive directors. About 100 graduates participate in the program annually, and its duration ranges from 18 to 24 months. The trainees are subject to a development plan tailored to each individual. During the training, they are empowered to hone their technical, administrative and leadership skills, in addition to preparing periodic meetings to evaluate the development they are achieving.
Kazem referred to the company’s goals to increase the Emiratisation rate by about 45% by 2026, by providing 500 job opportunities in several fields, and the company aspires to become in 2030 the leading industrial company and a favorite among job seekers, by providing the best training programs to build skills and provide Distinguished job opportunities in addition to enhancing gender balance in the workplace, and aims to increase the percentage of women in supervisory positions to 25% by 2025, as part of its belief that diversity contributes to enhancing performance.
Regarding achieving the national strategy for industrial growth, the “300 billion” project, Kazem said that the company is studying the future requirements of the state, and increasing its contribution to achieving the requirements, by supporting education in qualitative fields such as the fourth industrial wealth, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, pointing to encouraging youth cadres to join the sector. Industrial, by providing grants for higher education in scientific fields that meet the needs of the state and the company alike. The youth component is essential to maintaining the quality of production and supervisory operations in EGA. In this regard, Abdullah Al Sharji, General Supervisor of Factory Operations, said that their responsibility lies in focusing on the security and safety of employees and ensuring the efficiency of production operations. In her turn, Alia Al Hashemi, a trainee engineer, and the first female element in the operational operations specifically in the aluminum smelting line 1 of the company, referred to the contribution of “Emirates Global Aluminum” in harnessing all the training opportunities that were reflected in her leadership skills, as Al Hashemi explained her mechanism of work that provides for supervision The employees in the factory must manage and plan their tasks, as well as make decisions in the event of any emergency situations, while maintaining the safety and quality standards of the company. She referred to the challenges that contributed to strengthening her presence in unusual businesses, such as working in an environment with a temperature exceeding 50 degrees Celsius, dealing with a strong magnetic field, and using a huge electric current to decompose aluminum oxide into aluminum metal, which is used in all sectors such as the aircraft industry, cars, and construction. And others, aiming to represent the presence of women in operational and field operations.
