Emirates and United Airlines announced a landmark trade agreement on September 14, 2022 that will improve each airline’s network and provide their customers with easier access to hundreds of new destinations * in the United States and around the world.
From November, Emirates customers traveling to Chicago, San Francisco and Houston, three of the largest shopping malls in the United States, will be able to easily secure a seat on United flights to and from nearly 200 American cities with a single ticket.
At the other eight US airports served by Emirates – Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, JFK, Orlando, Seattle and Washington DC – the two airlines will have an interline agreement in place.
United will launch a new direct flight between Newark and Dubai starting March 2023. From there, customers will be able to travel on Emirates or its affiliate flydubai to more than 100 destinations. Tickets for the new United flight to Dubai are now on sale.
Emirates and United announced their agreement today at a ceremony at Dulles International Airport hosted by United CEO Scott Kirby and Emirates President Sir Tim Clark. The Boeing 777-300ERs of the United States and the Emirates and the crews of each company were present.

Customers of both airlines will soon be able to book these connecting flights with a single ticket, making check-in and baggage transfer faster and easier. For example, travelers can visit United.com or use the United app to book a flight from New York / Newark to Karachi, Pakistan, or visit Emirates.com to book a flight from Dubai to Atlanta or Honolulu.
This agreement will also offer loyalty program members of both airlines more opportunities to earn more rewards: Emirates Skywards program members will soon be able to earn miles traveling on United-operated flights and United Mileage Plus program members traveling on United flight from New York / Newark to Dubai, you can accumulate and redeem miles to connect with Emirates and flydubai.
Eligible passengers traveling on codeshare flights will soon also have access to Emirates and United lounges. More details on loyalty bonuses and Lounge Sharing benefits will be released in the coming weeks.
Both airlines recently announced significant investments in the customer experience. Emirates will refurbish more than 120 aircraft with a $ 2 billion plan that includes more dining options, a brand new vegan menu, cinema in the sky experience, cabin interior upgrades and sustainable choices. United will add 500 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft to its fleet, with a focus on a new custom interior with screens in the back of each seat, overhead bins, Bluetooth connectivity throughout, and the fastest in-flight WiFi in the industry.
