The airline company Emirates Airlines announced that its next advertising campaign and brand collaboration, set to launch in mid-summer 2023, will feature Penelope Cruz.
The Oscar-winning actress and philanthropist ‘is already an Emirates fan and a regular traveler having visited Dubai several times,” the UAE company announced. In exclusive footage shot aboard the iconic Airbus A380, Penelope Cruz said in a statement “revealed her passion for the airline and the positive relationship she has with the brand. She said she was delighted to be partnering with Emirates after years of flying with the airline, on some of the most valuable journeys of her life.”
The new TV spots will begin airing from June 2023 worldwide, both in English and in Penelope’s native language, Spanish. With an impactful theme “Travel is not just about the final destination; it’s also the way we get there”, the short advertisements feature Penelope Cruz taking advantage of all the exclusives available to customers of the Business class and some First class Emirates when they “Fly Better” and experience all the features of flying with Emirates: from the craft drink in the A380 onboard lounge, to the luxurious shower above the clouds, to from encouragement for a football match broadcast live, to a generous tasting of luxury caviar. In other spots, she also benefits from the spacious seats of the new Premium Economy Class d’Emirates.
Each of these new TV spots was directed and created by Robert Stromberg, “two-time Oscar-winning Hollywood director, tallying 21 wins and 30 nominations for films, TV series and commercials throughout his distinguished career.” Stromberg worked closely with the Emirates brand team to ensure the TV spots conveyed the unique luxury of the ‘Fly Better’ experience, while retaining Penelope Cruz’s playful note of humor. The prestigious production house Ridley Scott Associates also supported the series of television spots, as well as Framestore, the multi-award-winning creative studio for special effects.
