Emirates Airlines resumes its operations on a limited scale

It operates flights to London Heathrow, Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich and Brussels

Dubai, April 2, 2020: Emirates Airlines has received the necessary approvals to transport passengers to some of its destinations from Monday, April 6. Flights from Dubai to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Zurich will operate four times a week to London Heathrow, and 3 flights per week to Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Zurich.

These flights will depart from Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport until further notice, and will carry passengers from the United Arab Emirates only, and carry goods in both directions, supporting trade and local communities by transporting basic goods and products.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme President and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and the Group, thanked the government of the United Arab Emirates and all partners for supporting the resumption of operation of Emirates Airlines. His Highness said: “Our announcement of the operation of these flights, despite their limited and limited availability to passengers accepted by the authorities and destinations, was very welcomed by our customers who yearn to return to their countries and families.”

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum added: “While we hope to resume our operations in full as soon as possible, we understand the challenges that many cities face in dealing with the current conditions resulting from the spread of Covid-19. Naturally, we will only be able to restore our operations across our airline network by easing travel and flight restrictions, and we work in cooperation and coordination with the authorities to expand our services, with no compromise at all in the safety and health of our customers and crews at all stages of the trip. We will continue to monitor the situation, and we will announce any subsequent plans to resume operation of the flights as soon as any developments in this regard occur. ”

Emirates will serve the flights announced to the five European destinations with the Boeing 777-300ER, which provides both business and leisure. Those traveling on these flights can book through www.emirates.com, keeping in mind that travel restrictions to these destinations are still in effect. Therefore, Emirates Airlines advises its clients to check the entry criteria to their destinations before traveling.

For health and safety reasons, Emirates Airlines will apply a modified service program for these flights. The aircraft will not have any publications. While food and beverages will continue to be provided to passengers, Emirates Airlines will strive to avoid contact with crew members and passengers during service, through modified procedures for packing and packaging meals. The car service will be suspended temporarily with a driver, as will the private lounges at the airport.

All Emirates aircraft will undergo extensive cleaning and sterilization upon their return to Dubai after each flight.
