American rapper Eminem’s publishers Eight Mile Style and Martin Affiliated filed a lawsuit against the computer company Apple and the record company Aftermath Records, accusing them of illegally selling tracks of the popular artist.
According to lawyers for the two music publishers, a total of 93 Eminem songs are sold on Apple’s iTunes online store. As a result, Apple illegally received $2.5 million. dollars in revenue, and Aftermath – $4 million. dollars, the plaintiffs say.
Apple denied any wrongdoing and said the rapper’s tracks were sold under a contract with Aftermath. Among the tracks are hits such as Without Me, Soldier, Cleanin’ Out My Closet and even Eminem’s most famous track – Lose Yourself.
