The American rapper Eminem has been named the most successful musician in the first ten years of the 21st century.
According to calculations by Yahoo Music, in ten years the artist, whose debut album was released in 1996, managed to sell 31.127 million discs. In mid-May, Eminem released his sixth studio album “Relapse” – the first in 4 and a half years. It topped the charts in 16 countries, including the United States and Great Britain, and was the best-selling disc since the beginning of 2009. The second place in the ranking as the most successful artists of the first ten years of the 21st century are the members of the “Beatles”. From the discs of the Liverpool Four, which broke up in 1970, 27.591 million copies were sold in ten years. In third position is the American country singer Tim McGraw, who sold 24.295 million discs. Metallica is 14th and Johnny Cash is 18th, followed by Kid Rock. In the last 20th place in the ranking is Celine Dion.
