There will be some spoilers, so if you haven’t watched season 4 yet, be careful! The show’s creators decided to focus mainly on Emily (as if they hadn’t done that in the previous 3, hehe), this time treating the other characters’ storylines rather carelessly.
We do have the topic of Mindy struggling with financial and emotional problems, the harassment in the fashion world revealed by Sylvie, the perturbations related to Gabriel’s fight for a Michelin star or the blossoming of Camille’s relationship, but all the stories are shown very superficially. The viewer is unable to engage with any of them, wanting more. The same applies to Emily’s work, which has been a strong pillar of the story throughout the series.
I get the impression that they wanted to please everyone, not realizing that it’s impossible to cram polished stories into thirty-something-minute episodes.

The plot of this season is Emily’s choice: Alfie or Gabriel. And surprisingly, finally – (final?) decision!
So we see beautiful lovers on magical dates in Paris, it’s a fairy tale. It’s sweet, in places unrealistic and kitschy. But is that a bad thing? Did anyone expect something more sublime from a series for teenagers? Of course, there is no shortage of those lurking to spoil the idyllic happiness of the couple, and the first part of the season ends with a rather predictable cliffhanger.
Here I agree with the comments under the trailer stating that it is not an ambitious series, and watching it effectively relieves stress and maintains the summer mood.
And once again, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Ruthless internet users are taking their liberties with poor Emily, throwing epithets at her that are more or less suitable for publication. Unfortunately, it is true that the emotional development of the heroine is more of a regression than progress from season to season. However, again, if someone thinks that this is a show about relationships, I will be happy to disabuse them of this mistake.
The 4th season of “Emily in Paris” is, like the previous ones, a light, pleasing to the eye production that shows beautiful Paris, young, rich people, unreal problems, everything that makes an evening with a glass of non-alcoholic (for fuck’s sake!) wine pleasant.
