The young singer and songwriter Emīlija has introduced herself to the general public with the song “Augustā”. The song was produced by the musician of the group “The Sound Poets” and “Dairy Adventures” Peteris Lunde.
Emilija writes her own songs and calls her style indipopa. She is currently studying in the jazz department of Ventspils Music High School and in parallel collaborates with Agnese Rakovska on the music management platform “Zvaigznājs”. “I met Emilija at Ventspils Music High School and in the first lesson I asked if she writes songs. Emily replied that no. But said he would bring something for next week. In the end, Emilija carried a new song every hour, sometimes even two, but half a year later she was already playing her solo concert, which included only original music. As Emilia’s teacher, it was very inspiring for me to experience her creative spirit, inexhaustible work ability and to be present at the moment when a beautiful girl grows out of a little girl, who has a lot to say through tasteful, memorable songs, ”says Evija Weber, one of Emilija’s first teachers.
“Emilija gives the impression of a very serious and experienced artist, despite the fact that she is only 17 years old. I was very surprised by her emotional maturity and the language of expression, Emilia seems to have an old soul. I am very pleased that our pop music scene will be complemented by a valuable event – the song “August”, “says Agnese Rakovska.
“I was approached by Agnese with a request to produce Emilija’s song. I didn’t know about Emily before and I hadn’t heard of her. I listened to a demo recording a couple of times and then, after my daily ritual – coffee mugs, I started working. First I let “August” sound in my head, then I sat down at the piano and let my feelings. It seemed that the most important thing here was to highlight Emilia’s great voice. When I met Emilija in the studio, I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly she could work with her. Emilija is a talented girl, and if we continue to create music, we will definitely hear more about her, “Peter Lunde shares his first impressions of the young singer.
