The artist and actor had a daughter last week, according to a “Lindmo” interview with the newlywed father.
– I am completely, totally saved, completely above me, says Herbert Nordrum, in the interview VG has gained access to, which is broadcast on NRK tonight.
There, host Anne Lindmo comments to Nordrum that he has become a parent, “together with your nice, beautiful girlfriend Emilie Nicolas”.
A clearly excited Nordrum tells about how he has only slept for two hours – and how engrossed he is by his daughter.
– If she does not make sound, I have to look. If she’s making a sound, I have to look. Always.
Nordrum is currently highly relevant in Norway’s Oscar nominee, the Cannes award-winning film “The World’s Worst Man”.
He hardly puts that title on his daughter:
– I remember I walked around Ullevål and looked at all the other babies, and was like “my baby is just so sick much prettier than everyone else”, laughs Nordrum.
In the program, Åge Aleksandersen is one of the guests. He talks about when he had the daughter he wrote “Light and warmth” for, and the anxiety he got for not reaching out.
– Because it is so difficult, says the rock veteran.
Lindmo asks Nordrum if he feels any of the same.
– I feel it is going pretty well so far yes, but it has only been eight days, the actor points to a cheerful response from the audience.
– So I do not know. I’ll probably feel an awful lot – I know that. Very strong feelings.
VG has tried to contact Emilie Nicolas. Her management does not want to comment on the matter.
Idyllic life
The celebrity couple has not spoken publicly about the pregnancy until now, but in an interview with Aftenposten in July, Nordrum explained that he felt lucky.
– We have a park right next to us where we grow all kinds of vegetables. I say we, but it’s my boyfriend doing this. We eat such lovely food every day. Right now we live in a kind of idyll. It’s been a great summer.
The family lives at Sagene in Oslo.
On her boyfriend’s birthday last year, Nordrum posted this picture:
Emilie Nicolas Kongshavn is the artist’s full name. She got attention with a low-key cover version of the Dumdum Boys classic “Pstereo” in 2013; a commissioned work for the festival of the same name as the song.
The following year, she released her debut album, which, among other things, awarded her two Spellemann Prizes. There were just as many awards for the follow-up album in 2018, while her third and so far last album, from 2020, was also nominated.
Herbert Nordrum also broke through in 2013, with an Amanda award-winning role in the film «Pornopung».
He has later appeared in films such as “Kongens nei” and “Fjolls til fjells”, as well as TV series such as “Beforeigners” and “Unge lovende”.
