Emiliano Martinezgoalkeeper of Argentina, was in a press conference this Saturday, on the eve of the World Cup final against France.
In particular, he was questioned about the remarks of Kylian Mbappe few weeks ago : “The advantage we Europeans have is that we always play each other with high-level matches, for example the League of Nations. When we get to the World Cup, we are ready. Where Brazil and Argentina don’t have that level in South America. The football is not as advanced as in Europe. That’s why in the last World Cup they always won the European Championships” said the PSG striker.
Emiliano Martinez then replied: “Mbappé doesn’t know football enough, he’s never played in South America. If you don’t have that experience, you can’t comment. But that’s nothing. They know we are a world-class selection and they respect us for that.”
