Birmingham

Emiliano Martinez tell his story when he joined Arsenal. The Argentine goalkeeper chose The Gunners to earn money for his family.

Martinez is a player who graduated from the Argentine club, Independiente. He started his career there for two years starting in 2008, before flying to Arsenal in 2010 at the age of 18.

Martinez’s early career at Arsenal did not go smoothly. The man who was born on September 2, 1992, spends more time with other clubs on loan.

In total there are six clubs that have borrowed Emiliano Martinez from Arsenal during the period 2012-2019. Martinez just trusted The Gunners in the second half of the 2019/2020 season replacing the injured Bernd Leno.

Martinez appeared okay as a substitute for Leno and was able to present the FA Cup and Community Shield titles with Arsenal. He ended his tenure at the Emirates Stadium in September 2020 and joined a rival club, Aston Villa.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper recently told the story of his journey when he decided to move to England. Martinez admitted the decision was taken because of his family’s financial factors.

“Arsenal came looking for me and Pepe Santoro [pelatih di Independiente] told me that this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime. My family and my agent think the same, so the decision is more for them than anyone else,” Martinez told The country, as reported by Daily Star.

“I actually don’t want to leave. I don’t regret it, but I really want to play at Independiente,” he continued.

“At that time I thought: ‘If I stay there, in two years I can debut’. [Keluarga saya] less financially. I decided to move more for it than sport,” he said Emiliano Martinez.
