The GMD group, Renault distributor in Bouches-du-Rhône and Gard, could sell its diamond brand concessions to the Emil Frey France group.
Renault and Dacia distributor in Alès and Salon-de-Provence, the company SAPAS owned by the GMD group could join Emil Frey France.
According to the French Competition Authority, the group Emil Frey France is in discussion to acquire the company SAPAS, Renault and Dacia distributor in Alès (30) and Salon-de-Provence (13).
These sites are owned by the group GMD, chaired by Michel durand. In addition to these two concessions, the group distributes the Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Maserati brands in Aix-en-Provence (13). The information provided by the Competition Authority does not mention this last concession.

As a reminder, the GMD group, 95th of our Top 100, was created in 1977. In 2020, it sold 2,902 VN including 2,617 Renault-Dacia and 285 FCA as well as 1,471 VO. Its turnover was 104.5 million euros and it employs 182 people.
This acquisition would strengthen Emil Frey France’s position with Renault and Dacia in the Bouches-du-Rhône, the group is already present with these panels in Aix-en-Provence, Vitrolles and Marignane (Saint-Victoret). It should be noted that in this department it also markets the brands BMW, Mini and Peugeot.
