Emiliano Martinez sorry about the crazy celebration after 2022 World Cup finals. Martinez was forced by his colleagues to do that.
The Argentine national team goalkeeper celebrated his World Cup title by celebrating lasciviously on the podium during the medal ceremony. Martinez put the Golden Gloves trophy in his crotch while making a goofy face.
The celebration was criticized by many because it was considered insulting to France. Especially after that Martinez also made fun of Kylian Mbappe.
Even Mbappe, who was annoyed, replied by making fun of Martinez’s celebration.
Not wanting the problem to drag on, Martinez then apologized. He admitted that he was not happy with what he had done.
Moreover, the celebration was carried out because it was heated up by team mates.
“Of course I’m not at all happy with the action. But it was a challenge,” Emiliano Martinez told TYC Sports.
“Shortly after I was awarded the golden gloves, the Argentinian players said ‘Do a celebration like you did at the Copa America’ and I said ‘So what happens if I do that?’ and they reply ‘what if you don’t do it!’ Yes, it’s the fault of my team-mates too,” Martinez added.
Emiliano Martinez apparently made a similar gesture in last year’s Copa America final, when Argentina beat Brazil 1-0.
