An alarm has sounded in the state apparatus after the emergency weather report issued by the National Meteorological Service for the new wave of bad weather that is just around the corner and is expected to hit our country.

According to the meteorologists, the effects will be strong and lasting, while they will affect several regions of the country, including Thessaly, which is still measuring its wounds from the bad weather “Daniel”.

Already today, an extraordinary inter-ministerial meeting was held under the Minister of Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilia, while a second one is expected to take place. The bad weather is expected to last until at least Wednesday.

The Marousakis forecast: Which areas will receive the largest volume

“After a summer weekend with high temperatures comes a new wave of bad weather which will once again affect the geographical areas affected by Daniel. This wave will have both intensity and duration. The effects will start on Sunday morning in the North West and on Monday they will concern most of the Central and North country. Unfortunately, Thessaly is also among the areas that will get a lot of water,” said the meteorologist, Clearchos Marousakis.

“Unfortunately in this bad weather too it seems that Thessaly will somehow be in the spotlight, not at the levels that were bad weather Daniel. From Monday noon, Tuesday, Wednesday, a large volume of water will also fall in the area of ​​Thessaly, especially towards the western and northern parts. He wants attention” he added.

“Until Wednesday, the wave of bad weather will hit eastern and central Thessaly as well as Halkidiki. A lot of attention from the Peloponnese and above” he concluded.

Emergency report from the EMY: There is a worsening from Monday

It is noted that the EMY predicts a worsening of the weather, which has issued an emergency bulletin, from Monday with heavy rains and storms that will affect Western, Central and Northern Greece.

The effects will be locally strong and on Monday they will be noted mainly in the western parts of Thessaly, Epirus, western Macedonia and possibly the Ionian.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, more areas will be affected, according to the EMY forecast.

On Monday (25-09-2023) in the west, central and north, rain is predicted, while sporadic locally strong storms will occur mainly in Epirus, western Macedonia, Thessaly and possibly the Ionian. It is noted that in Thessaly the western parts (Trikala and Karditsa prefectures) and the western and northern parts of the Larissa prefecture will be affected.

On Tuesday (26-09-2023) in the Ionian and continental regions (except eastern Macedonia and Thrace), clouds with local rains and locally strong storms are forecast. In Thessaly, the highest rainfall will occur mainly in the northern and eastern parts of the prefecture of Magnesia, as well as in the prefectures of Karditsa, Trikala and the southern areas of the prefecture of Larissa.

On Wednesday (27-09-2023) rains are forecast for almost the entire country, while locally strong storms will occur in the Ionian Sea, the mainland and the northern Aegean. It is pointed out that in Thessaly the highest rainfall levels will occur in the prefectures of Karditsa, Larissa and Trikala as well as in the eastern parts of Magnesia. Strong storms will also occur in the Sporades region.

Since three twenty-four hours have passed since the onset of the strong phenomena, EMY will update its emergency bulletins every twelve hours and the updates of the emergency bulletins will be a continuation of this bulletin.
